At Ralph’s, every meal feels like home. Because for us and for many of our customers, it is! We’ve built our family-owned business over many years. In 1988, our parents, Hussein (also affectionately known as “Ralph”) and Nadia Saleh, became the owners of “Ralph’s Handi Mart” in the Strathearn neighbourhood, along with our uncle and aunt, Adel and Dana Saleh. We were raised at Ralph’s Handi Mart, growing up and working there until we were forced to close our doors in October 2022 to make space for the new LRT line.

 

Less than a year later, in August 2023, we held a grand opening for our very first restaurant! At Ralph’s Fried Chicken in our Northside location (10807 Castle Downs Rd), we still sell our classic famous fried chicken and spuds, and added our homestyle gravy, poutine, coleslaw and garlic sauce to the menu. We are continuing to expand the menu, recently adding our mouthwatering fried chicken burger and chicken strips … and many more delicious additions will be announced soon!

 

A year after we opened our Castledowns restaurant, we went back to our roots when, in August 2024, we opened Ralph’s Fried Chicken and Convenience in our Queen Mary Park downtown location (11244 109 Ave). And we plan to open several more locations across Edmonton in the future!
